Is there a better start into the day than with a late, delicious brunch while being on vacation?
I doubt it!
That´s why I created a second part of my Brunch spots article since you loved the first one so much!
Almalibre acai house
The almalibre acai house is located in the hipster district of Madrid- Malasana.
The restaurant is completely vegetarian and vegan.
Their menu offers a large variety of dishes ranging from acai bowls (of course!) to burgers to wraps, combos to share and avocado toasts, eggs with toast and more! You can customize your acai superfood bowl by adding extra toppings or remove the ones you don´t like.
Perfect for veggie lovers!
Umami coffee
I stumbled upon this Café by accident because we were hungry and needed a break. And it turned out to be an absolute gem!
It is located right next to the famous "Paseo del Prado".
First of all: their drinks and coffee is amazing!! The orange juice tastes as if it was pressed a minute ago.
Secondly: Their coffee flavors are insane! Curcuma latte, pink latte and lavender latte were upon the options...
Their food is really tasty as well: They offer a bevy of toasts or bread with different toppings such as avocado, salmon, egg or a combination of all. They also have sweet dishes such as waffles, PB toast and vegan pastries!
The Café itself has a really cool vibe and the interior is very modern but cool, kind of an industrial style. Definitely a must-go!
Coco house - cocadas & brunch madrid
The Coco house is a hidden gem as well!
The interior reminds me of a tropical house near the beach, so are the dishes too.+
The food was excellent: they offer a brunch menu (23€) but you can also order a single dish. The menu for instance includes a coffee, a juice, avocado toast (e.g. with eggs) or pancakes, an acai or yoghurt bowl and a small home-made dessert.
Highly recommended!
Frutas prohibidas
Frutas prohibidas is one of my favorites as well and on top is also 100% plant based and vegan. Their food is known for being very extravagant, colorful and tropical or exotic.
And I can confirm that first hand.
We ordered the dish like in the upper left corner: acai bowl served in a real coconut shell topped with exotic fruits, and fluffy pancakes with icecream and berries- a dream!
They also offer savoury dishes such as vegan Burger or sausages for example.
It really is worth a visit, trust me! (you won´t even notice it´s vegan.)
That´s it for part two of my Brunch-series! I hope you enjoyed reading it just as much as I enjoyed eating breakfast there.
Let me know which one is your favorite or which one you tried while staying in Madrid!
